Dominion T&T Service get together in Buitrago for its annual internal kick off

Dominion T&T Services division celebrated last 22nd and 23rd of February its internal kick off with the intention of having a better perspective of the current business situation and the future strategy, with special focus on the development perspectives for 2018. The meeting took place in Buitrago, and a considerable group of the division’s representatives participated, as well as attendees from other divisions and corporate areas such as Carmen Gómez (DOMINION’s Human Resources director), Juanan Goñi (general manager of Digital), Nacho Urigüen (Dominion Digital), Iñaki Aizpurua (Dominion Applied Engineering) and Patricia Berjón (Investors Relations and Corporate Communications) and Cristina Pérez (Corporate Human Resources).

First to present was the general manager, Lydia Mateo, and Mikel Barandiaran, DOMINION’s CEO. Following there were more presentations from different units along with Beny López, David Soler and Óscar Moreno, as well as international business lines’ responsible: Miguel Acebes (Peru); Efraín Velázquez (Mexico); Eduardo la Fontaine (Chile and Argentina) and Silvia Aparecida (Brasil), German Pradera (Chile, Spain, Peru), Jose Maria Herrero (Spain).

Highlights of the event

It was a kick off marked by the incorporation of the multi technical services unit coming from Abantia. This has allowed to start developing a strategic diversification in activity, sector and client, as well as the incorporation of new high qualified professionals that will allow us to internationalize this activity taking advantage of DOMINION’s existing structure in the different regions where we operate.

As part of this diversification effort, the commercial work that each unit has been developing was highlighted, underlining the good perspectives in all countries where T&T Services has presence, with an agenda with new projects for 2018 beyond past years, being conscious of the impossibility of living only from a contract that responds to the same typology, due to the risks that it takes from the business point of view.

On the other hand, another issue that was discussed on the event was the service paradigm, something that the attendees wanted to highlight that requires a definition and implementation that provides added value to clients, using selective digitalization and our model processes standardization as leverage.

This would allow us to place entrance barriers for our competitors, for whom the only competitive advantage currently is the price, as well as exit barriers to clients once they are on a contract basis due to the systemic link and services management processes model, increasing the possibilities of client retention.

Besides, the two trends that currently exist in the industry and telecommunications sector were highlighted, something that responds to different maturity phases in terms of externalization models adopted in each sector, although both represent huge opportunities and challenges for the offer development.

Future development

Chile’s business consolidation need was also mentioned, as well as the need to continue increasing the margins in Peru, Mexico and Spain; stabilize Brazil after the country’s crisis and continue with the internationalization of the multi technical line and the opening of new countries.

The SGS management platform acquired an important role because it’s been evolving significantly during 2017 and it has an aggressive development plan for 2018, confirming its role as differentiating element in management and presales. This year it’s been very important the work developed in order to adapt to the industry sector a tool very focused on the telecommunications sector, which demonstrates that our business model is perfectly valid for multiple sectors and can be applied in a transversal way, applying the developed capacities to various sectors and countries, taking advantage of the sector and operational knowledge.

Finally, the attendees coincided in the idea that the multi technical business integration, the service paradigm change and the diversification need will need changes in the T&T Services organization that allow to make operations agile, as well as the implementation and execution of very diverse contracts.
