Big Data Spain 2017 was held in Madrid on 16 and 17 November. It has been the 6th edition of the main conference in Spain and one of the three largest in Europe dedicated to new technologies of massive data processing, Artificial Intelligence, cloud computing and digital transformation. During these sessions, organized by Paradigma Digital, professionals from the Big Data industry such as Google, Facebook, IBM or Red Hat, and from nationalcompanies such as BBVA, Minsait, Dominion and SDG Group Iberia and organizations such as The Apache Software Foundation met.
Throughout these years the event has not only grown in terms of attendance, reaching 1,350 accreditations in this year's edition, but has also evolved the theme, devoting space to new technological trends such as, for example, Blockchain. In addition, and as a novelty this year, a full day of workshops prior to the conference was included, which was also a success.
Good account of this gave part of the team of Big Data and Advanced Analytics Solutions and Digital Transformation of Dominion; Arkaitz Etxezarreta (Big Data & Advanced Analytics Consultant) and Ignacio Capilla (Big Data Architect) that spent both days identifying the best practices in the industry in terms of infrastructure, advanced analytics and digital transformation. Among their impressions, they emphasize the importance of printing the correct business vision in each project, in line with our organization's work methodology, where applied technology is the lever used to solve real business problems.
