The Challengue
To modernize and expand CESGA’s capabilities through the development of a new supercomputing facility built to the highest technological and sustainability standards. The goal: to meet the growing scientific and technological demand with an infrastructure designed to host next-generation systems, such as Finisterrae IV, with high energy efficiency, modularity, and scalability.
DOMINION's +
We were responsible for both the design (basic and detailed engineering) and the construction of the new Data Center in Santiago de Compostela, applying a comprehensive approach that brings together architecture, engineering and technology.
The project incorporates full BIM methodology throughout all phases, a column-free data hall with full visibility from an upper-level visitor area, and advanced solutions such as direct liquid cooling (DLC), redundant structured cabling and a centralized Building Management System (BMS). The design meets Tier III certification standards and complies with national and EU regulations.
Results
A cutting-edge, energy-efficient facility, with over 2,400 m² of usable indoor space and more than 1,200 m² of technical outdoor area. The new center is prepared to operate with IT loads of up to 3,2 MW and to accommodate emerging technologies in supercomputing, massive storage, and quantum computing.
A high-performance infrastructure that strengthens CESGA’s position as a benchmark in digital research and innovation across Europe.
